To the Editor: BG woman tells why she appreciates Sentinel

0

It is easy to take things for granted. The Sentinel-Tribune is a community newspaper that is a very
valuable resource and treasure for Wood County.
Each day a newspaper arrives in my mailbox that details the events of our community.
Writers, photographers, editors, web designers, and staff members put together a document that summarizes
the daily life of the people and events of our community. Writers summarize community events, national
/international events, local statistics and births/deaths records.
A quick browse through the Web site shows that photographers and videographers have captured images of
fairs, tractor pulls, sporting events, car shows, and much more. These images often capture sights that
most of us would miss had there not been a photographer there to take the shot.
I especially want to commend the Sentinel-Tribune for the dedication to positive portrayals of the youth
of our community. It’s a big deal for a child to be mentioned in a positive way in the local newspaper.

Families clip and save newspaper articles/pictures as a way to preserve the moments of our children’s
youth.
In this era when newspapers are becoming increasingly scarce, I hope you will join me in not only
appreciating our local newspaper but also supporting it.
