BG man accused of fraudulent iPhone sales

Richard Rowald, 61, of Lehman Avenue, was indicted by a Wood County grand jury on Nov. 4 for receiving
stolen property and telecommunications fraud.
According to the police report filed with the court, Rowald, also listed in court papers as Rowold,
devised a scheme using eBay and e-mail to defraud people all over the country by advertising and
presenting Apple iPhones that are fraudulent.
He is also alleged to have obtained stolen guitars through an Internet fast-forwarding service that were
purchased with stolen credit cards. Stolen guitars were confiscated from his possession.
The total value of property and services were valued at nearly $12,400, according to the complaint filed
by a Bowling Green police officer.
The indicted offenses are said to have occurred between Sept. 1 and Sept. 22 of this year.
The defendant is set to be arraigned on Friday at 1 p.m. in the courtroom of Common Pleas Court Judge
