Helen "Joann" Meier, 58, of Weston, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Wood County
Hospital, Bowling Green.
She was born February 12, 1951 in Georgetown, Kentucky to the late Josiah and Blanche (Sharp) Griffin.
She married Michael Dan Meier on December 19, 1981 in Weston and he survives.
Also surviving are her children, Jeff (Jenny) and Jeremy Helberg, Weston; Matthew Meier, Perrysburg; and
Melissa (William) Calderon, Marysville; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Edith Tyree, Harrodsburg, Kentucky;
Dorothy Brown, Sandy Tyree and Kathryn Betz, all of Weston; and brother, Bennie Griffin, Weston.
A daughter, Amanda Meier, and a brother, Wayne Griffin, preceded her in death.
Joann was a homemaker and devoted member of the Sonlight Assembly of God in Weston.
A graduate of Otsego High School, she enjoyed gardening, flowers, and playing bingo.
Joann found her greatest enjoyment in spending time with her grandchildren and will be remembered for her
Christ-like compassion and love by which she lived her life.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, where funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 11, 2009. Pastor Chris Boggs will preside and
burial will follow in Weston Cemetery.
A luncheon and gathering in fellowship will be held at the church after committal services in the
cemetery.
