Russell K. "Spud" Louy, Jr., 65 years, of Waterville, Ohio, died Friday, October 23, 2009 in
his residence.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on November 1, 1943, he was the son of Russell K. Louy, Sr. and Mary Thornton Louy.

He last worked for the Rim and Wheel Company of Perrysburg, but was best known as the operator of the
former Spud’s Marathon Station in Waterville. He also worked for the Waterville Gas Company and the
former Waterville Electric Company, and other area businesses.
Spud was an avid reader and enjoyed model trains and golf.
He is survived by his three daughters: Brenda (Dan) Sheller, Sherie Louy, and Shawna Louy; his brother,
Thomas (Nancy) Louy; one niece, two nephews, three grand-nieces and three grand-nephews; and his special
friend, Wanda Peters, and her daughter, Angela Perez.
His parents and his sister, Barbara Bodi, preceded him in death.
Graveside services for Spud will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009 in Wakeman Cemetery,
Waterville, Ohio with Rev. Stephen Rath of Waterville United Methodist Church officiating.
The family suggests that tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to the
PASSPORT program of the Area Office on Aging of N.W.O..
