BG Community Foundation appoints new trustees

The Bowling Green Community Foundation Board of Trustees held their annual meeting on Oct. 14.
Trustees discussed plans for the upcoming annual fund drive which will begin in mid November. It was
reported that in 2009, the foundation distributed $25,600 in grants to Bowling Green area community
organizations and another $6,000 in scholarships to Bowling Green high school seniors.
Since the foundation began in 1994, the Bowling Green Community Foundation has awarded 225 grants
totaling $187,600 to 132 different organizations.
Outgoing board members Jack Jones and Dr. Wayne Bell were recognized for their terms of service. Jane
Quinn and Scott Seeliger were appointed as new trustees. Officers for 2010 include Brad Conner,
president; Ken Frisch, president elect; Dean King, immediate past president; Dick Martin, secretary;
Mike Miesle, treasurer; and Dr. Char Scherer, executive director.
Other board members include Bob McOmber, Holly Barker, Bob Scholl, Dolores Black, Barb Ford, Deb
Chatfield, Jim Miles, Brian Linn, Greg Christopher, Jeff Smith, Betty Kahlenberg, Paul Windisch and
Brian Bushong.
