BRADNER – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Sunday on
private property in Bradner, which resulted in the death of a Portage man.
The sheriff’s office reports that a vehicle driven by Lana Rose, of Wayne, was traveling north on
property behind 11398 Wayne Road at about 10:12 p.m. and then drove onto property at 3777 Douglas Road.
She reportedly drove into the south end of a pond that she had failed to see. She and a front-seat
passenger, Dale Rose Jr., also of Wayne, were able to escape the vehicle.
The rear-seat passenger, Larry Sabo, 51, was unable to exit the submerged vehicle.
Bradner EMS, Wayne Fire Department and Life Flight were called, and Sabo was pronounced dead at the
scene.
Lana and Dale Rose Jr. were taken to Wood County Hospital with possible injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
