Elmwood cheerleaders start new season

JERRY CITY – The Elmwood High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders start off their season after
a summer of success.
The junior varsity squad includes five returning members: sophomores Chelse Borders, Brianna Hammond,
Morgan King, Sarah Laborie and Alissa Lynch. Three new members are freshmen Christina Kern, Jenilee
Myers and Ragan Yarnell.
The squad competed in four competitions this summer and took first place at every competition including
the Wood County Fair, Attica Fair, Huron County Fair and Back-to-School Blast in Fremont.
The varsity squad is being led by seniors Kelsey Aufdencamp and Katie Reiser, who are both third-year
varsity members. Second-year members include juniors Morgan Arnold, Halie Hamman and Shawna McCullough;
and the first-year varsity members are junior Brittany Grilliot and sophomores Chelsi Bodi and Vanessa
Wagner.
The varsity team earned first place at the Wood County Fair in the small varsity division. The team
placed second at the Attica Fair, first at the Huron County Fair, and first at Back-to-School Blast.
Elmwood also brought home the Spirit Award from the Wood County Fair competition.
Coaches are Michele Solether and Jill Fitch.
