‘Ernest in Love’ tickets on sale
Tickets for the Black Swamp Players’ production of "Ernest in Love" are now on sale at Grounds
for Thought, 174 S. Main St., Bowling Green.
The show, a musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s "The Importance of Being Ernest," will be
staged at First United Methodist Church, Sept. 18, 19, 25 and 26 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 27 at 2 p.m.
Barbara Lockard-Zimmerman is directing.
Tickets are $15 and $13 for students and seniors.
Alex DePue in Vai concert DVD
Alex DePue, formerly of Bowling Green, will be making his debut on the silver screen Sept. 15. at the
Egyptian Theater in Hollywood when he appears the debut of the Steve Vai concert film "Where the
Wild Things Are."
The premier will be as a fundraiser for the Hollywood Arts Association.
The movie documents a two-hour 40 minute live show from a stop during the U.S. leg of Vai and his band’s
2007 world tour in Minneapolis.
DePue plays electric violin and keyboards in the band.
The DVD/CD of "Where the Wild Things Are" is scheduled for release Sept. 29. A trailer for the

‘Anne of Avonlea’ auditions set
GRAND RAPIDS – Auditions are upcoming for the fall production of "Anne of Avonlea" sponsored by
the Grand Rapids Arts Council will be held Sept. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. and Sept. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Sam Macera will direct this sequel to "Anne of Green Gables" at the Town Hall Theater on Front
Street, Grand Rapids Nov. 20, 21, and 22.
Those auditioning should be prepared to read from the script. Rehearsals will be on Sunday afternoons and
Tuesday evenings.

Dance classes offered in G.R.
GRAND RAPIDS – The Grand Rapids Arts Council is now registering children and adults for the fall dance
classes.
Classes are held Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings on the second floor of the Masonic Hall on Front
Street in Grand Rapids.
The cost is $30 for a 5-week session or $60 for two sessions.

Polka club hosts dinner, dance
SEWARD – The Czech Dancers Polka Club will host a dinner dance featuring the music of the St. Louis
Express Band Sept. 13 At the Czech Hall at the intersection of Ohio 120 and 109.
The dinner will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. with dancing from 2 to 6 p.m.
