Falcon volleyball wins tourney
PITTSBURGH – Bowling Green’s volleyball team finished things off at the Duquesne/Robert Morris Tournament
Saturday beating Howard and Duquesne to win the event, going 4-0.
BG’s Shari Luther was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and teammates Kaitlin Jackson and
Allison Kearney were named to the all-tournament team.
BG’s leaders in the 25-12, 25-12, 25-15 win over Howard were: Corey Domek, 10 kills; Kearney, 21 assists;
Emily Kauth, five aces; and Alex Zlabis, 11 digs.
The Falcons needed five games to down Duquesne, 20-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10. BG’s leaders were:
Jackson, 11 kills, 23 digs; Kauth, 12 kills; Domek, 14 kills, 14 digs; Kearney 49 assists, 14 digs,
three aces; Luther, 11 kills; and Zlabis, 16 digs.
In four matches, Luther had 42 kills with a .430 attack percentage and led the team with 13 blocks.
Jackson was named all-tournament by driving home 37 kills and leading the team with 48 digs to go with
eight blocks. Kearney was also named all-tournament by averaging 11.5 assists per set (161 total),
leading the team with nine aces and posting 35 digs.
BGSU women’s soccer falls
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State blanked Bowling Green’s women’s soccer team, 4-0 Sunday. BG is 1-2
Laura Arnold played the first half in goal for the Falcons making three saves and allowing three goals.
Alexa Arsenault played the second half for BG making four saves and allowing one goal. The Falcons had
three shots on goal.
Reimold goes hitless
BALTIMORE – Former Bowling Green State University standout Nolan Reimold was hitless in two games against
the Cleveland Indians over the weekend.
In a 5-2 Baltimore win Sunday, Reimold was 0-for-3. He was 0-for-3 Saturday in the Orioles’ 5-3 loss to
the Indians. Reimold is hitting .271 for the season.
Eastwood Flag Football signup Tuesday
LUCKEY — Registration for Eastwood Flag Football is Tuesday night from 6:30-8 in the high school
The program is open to third through sixth graders, and the cost is $30.
