Jack Carroll Gardner was born May 6, 1930 to Mark and Marjorie Gardner in Findlay, OH.
He was raised in Bloomdale, OH, along with his sisters, Melba Jean (Barringer), Marceline (Easley); and
is survived by his sister, Pauline Reinhard, nine nieces and nephews.
He died July 19, 2009.
He served with the Marines during the Korean Conflict, and then earned his BA from the University of
Toledo.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 56 years, the former Mae Oestreich and three sons: Richard
(Jennifer) and son Justin; Robert (Alphareta), son, Phroi and daughter, Rheana Mae; and Bruce (Amelia)
and sons, Cy and Duncan.
Jack owned and operated tire businesses in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
He enjoyed camping with his family, expertly maintaining his home, and helping neighbors with theirs.
He was an expert on vintage airplanes, and the history of World War II. He and his wife traveled overseas
several times. He especially enjoyed Grecian art.
A memorial service will be held at St Paul’s Methodist Church, 10 a.m. July 27th, followed by 2:30 p.m.
services at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
