Ice cream social helps food pantry

ELMORE – The Elmore Food Pantry is a ministry shared by five Elmore churches. Located at Grace
Evangelical Lutheran Church, the pantry receives only minimal government funds, yet serves about 11,000
meals to those in need in the community each year.
On Monday, Grace is hosting an ice cream social to help continue its work.
For a $5 donation, diners will get their choice: a Tank’s hot dog or Root’s chicken sandwich, both served
with chips and a piece of home-made pie or cake and a scoop of ice cream. Root beer floats are also
available. Additional sandwiches, desserts and floats will be available for $1 each as desired.
The meal will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
All proceeds directly benefit the pantry; additional gifts, cash or non-perishable food items, will be
gratefully received. Matching funds are being donated by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
The public is invited.
The church is located at the intersection of Witty Road and Ohio 51, just one mile north of the village
of Elmore.
