RISINGSUN – St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Risingsun, will host its annual "Ice Cream
Social" on Aug.6 from 4 to 7 p.m. featuring homemade vanilla and butter pecan ice cream.
The menu includes homemade chicken noodle soup, chicken and sloppy Joe sandwiches, potato salad, baked
beans, pie, cake, ice cream and beverage.
Highlighting the social again this year will be a 1930 International gasoline engine used to power the
5-gallon White Mountain ice cream freezer and Little Giant ice crusher.
The demonstration of making the ice cream has become as much a tradition as eating the ice cream. The
public is invited.
Evil focus ‘Church at Cherry’s’
PEMBERVILLE – "God and the Problem of Evil" will be the topic for Tuesday’s session of Church
at Cherry’s, held at Cherry’s Pub, 211 E. Front St., Pemberville. The discussion begins at 7 p.m.
Movies being shown
Wood County Baptist Church, 14161 Dirlam Road, will hold its biweekly "Movie Night" next Friday
at 7 p.m.
Organizers plan a night of entertainment, snacks and refreshments. It is free and open to the public.
The July 31 movie will be "Moondance Alexander" by Michael Damian.
Children’s movies are also shown.
Those attending are invited to bring their own favorite chair or bean bag.
Senior CSI event set
PERRYSBURG – CSI, Christian Seniors Interacting, invite all seniors in the area to attend its next
meeting to be held Tuesday at Abundant Life No. 2, 200 Zoar Drive, Perrysburg. The event is held the
second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $3 charge for
miscellaneous expenses.
On Tuesday the 11:30 a.m. Bible study will be led by Pastor Ann Marshall of Zoar Lutheran Church. Lunch
is served at noon, provided by gift certificates from three businesses.
The program which follows will be "Solar Energy" with Alan Henderson.
