Helen V. King, age 71 of Luckey, OH passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Bay Park Community Hospital,
Oregon, OH.
On January 9, 1938 she was born in Phelps, KY to Arthur and Litha (New) Blankenship. She was married in
Monroe, MI to James King for 50 years. Helen spent her days working alongside her beloved husband in
their family business, but her most important job and what she was most proud of was being a mom. She
was more than a mother to her 14 children.
Her advice, wisdom, laughter, and spirit was the center that held the family together. As a loving and
devoted wife and mother, she would prepare dinners, every Sunday, for almost all of her children, their
spouses, and grandchildren, always with a smile on her face. She was truly what a mother was supposed to
be and there will forever be an empty space in the King family.
