Bradner to host annual ‘Day in the Park’

BRADNER – The county’s calendar of summer festivals continues Saturday with Bradner Day in the Park,
featuring contests, music, food, entertainment and more.
The day opens with registration for the car show from 9 a.m. until noon. Cars should be in place for the
show by 12 p.m., and awards will be presented at 3:30 p.m.
Craft and flea market vendors will be in place by 10 a.m.
A new item auction will be held at 5:30 p.m., with auctioneer Chris Barringer. Raffle drawings for a bike
and a basket precede it at 5:00 p.m.
An old-fashioned parade moves out at noon. The Grand Marshals will be Rick and Mary Beth from 101.5, The
River radio station.
For children, there will be inflatable rides from noon to 6 p.m. offered by Journey’s Family Amusements.
They are also invited to participate in a four-mile run and walk at 7:30 p.m.
Contests scheduled include "Cutest Baby" at 1:30 p.m. for ages newborn to 1 and 1-2 years old.
The theme is patriotic, so red, white and blue should be included in the dress-up.
There will also be a hot dog eating contest from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
A four-mile run and walk is being held for adults at 6:30 p.m.
This year a beer tent will be offered from 7 to 11 p.m. Music will be provided by "Dangerous
Cliff" from 7:30 until 11:30 p.m.
The band "Teachrz Pet" will perform music from 3 to 5 p.m.
Fireworks will light up the sky at dusk. They are being shot off by Melrose Fireworks.
Foods offered include a chicken barbecue from 1 to 3 p.m., provided by the Bar-B-Que Traveler. Festival
food concessionaires will offer their specialties all day long.
If weather permits, Life Flight will make an appearance at 1 p.m.
