Ice cream social returns
HASKINS – The annual Haskins community ice cream social will be held Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The church is located on Ohio 582, one mile west of the village. There also will be a combined worship
service on Sunday.
In addition to the host church, the event is co-sponsored by Haskins Community Church.
The morning worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Lusher Park. Those attending are reminded to bring
folding lawn chairs for the service.
The ice cream social will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. with proceeds designated for the medical expenses
of Corine Fonseca who was severely injured in an automobile accident.
In addition to the ice cream, menu items offered will include sloppy joes and hot dogs, chicken and
noodles, chips, pie, cake and beverages.
There will be a "classic car show," kids games, dunk tank, face painting, silent auction and
music provided.
The Wood County chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will donate matching funds for the benefit.

Free movie offered
PEMBERVILLE – Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a free movie night in the church parking
lot at 8 p.m. Sunday.
The public is invited to attend. Soft drinks and popcorn will be provided.
Fellowship meal offered
DOWLING – Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dowling, will host a community brats and hot dog roast on
July 19 at 6 p.m. The brats and dogs, complete with buns and condiments will be furnished along with
beverages and tableware.
The public is invited to attend this free fellowship meal.
Members of the host church are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share.
‘Time Changer’ to be shown
Wood County Baptist Church, 14161 Dirlam Road, which is located east of Interstate 75 between Napoleon
and Gypsy Lane Roads, will show "Time Changer" for its "Movie Night" on July 17 at 7
p.m. The
movie is from ChristianMovies.com. Set in 1890, a manuscript writer is offered a glimpse into the future
by way of a secret time machine.
There are also movies for the youth.
The movie, along with snacks and other refreshments are provided free to the public.
Senior CSI event set
PERRYSBURG – CSI, Christian Seniors Interacting, invite all seniors in the area to attend its next
meeting to be held Tuesday at Abundant Life No. 2, 200 Zoar Drive, Perrysburg. The event is held the
second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $3 charge for
miscellaneous expenses.
On Tuesday the 11:30 a.m. Bible study will be led by Jessica King, an intern at Zoar Lutheran Church.
Lunch is served at noon, provided by Foundation Park.
The program which follows will be Center Spotlight Chorus.

Soup and salad lunch is Sunday
The congregation of Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Road, will host a soup and salad luncheon in
the fellowship hall Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will benefit the Lutheran Association for
Missionary Pilots and the Ronald McDonald House, with matching funds from Thrivent Financial for
Lutherans. The menu includes cream of potato and chicken noodle soups, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches,
along with a variety of salads and desserts.Bible school dates in error
CYGNET – Faith United Methodist Church will hold its Vacation Bible School July 19-23. An incorrect
starting date was published last week.
