PERRYSBURG – Township police are looking for suspects who may be involved in the assault of a 55-year-old
Reitz Road resident in his home.
Just before 3 a.m. Thursday, Samuel Slaughterbec answered the door to a man who pushed him down and
struck him in the face several times, according to police reports. Slaughterbec told investigators that
the assailant called him by his name and proceeded to tear up his home and demand guns – some of which
were in plain view in the home – while two other men told their apparent partner to move faster.
According to the report, Slaughterbec stated that the assailant then tried to reach a hand gun until
Slaughterbec scared him away with a shotgun blast.
When police arrived on the scene, several marks were observed on Slaughterbec’s face as well as a slice
on his forehead. He told police that the person who attacked him had black gloves, short hair and
appeared to have a tattoo of an eagle on the left side of his neck with wings across the right side. The
two other males were wearing black hoodies and masks, he said.
Slaughterbec said the three left the area in a yellow older-model Chevy Suburban with an unknown Ohio
tag.
A representative from the township police department was not immediately available for comment this
morning.
