‘Fancy Nancy’ illustrator Glasser visits libraryFamilies are invited to meet the "Illustrator
Extraordinaire" of the Fancy Nancy series, Robin Preiss Glasser, at the Wood County District Public
Library on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.Everyone is encouraged to dress fancy in top hats or tiaras, feathers or frills,
satin or silk and embellish a cupcake.Glasser will be autographing her books. The Friends of the Library
will be selling a selection of her "Fancy Nancy" titles.There are over 50 titles in the series,
written by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Glasser. Recently, the series expanded to include chapter books
for older readers titled, "Nancy Clancy."In addition to "Fancy Nancy," Glasser has
illustrated additional best-selling picture books by Judith Viorst, radio star Garrison Keillor, poet
Elizabeth Garton Scanlon and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. Glasser received an ALA Notable Book Award
for "You Can’t Take a Balloon into the Metropolitan Museum" with author Jacqueline Preiss
Weitzman, and collaborated on three books with the former vice president’s wife, Lynne Cheney.Glasser will
also be presenting earlier in the afternoon on Thursday at Crim Elementary. She will be a featured presenter

volleyball team hosts Miami .All elementary and middle school children who attend the match in a Halloween
costume will receive free admission. BGSU student-athletes will be giving away candy to all
trick-or-treaters in the Stroh Center.Fun basketball program planned for BG childrenBowling Green fifth and
sixth-grade boys and girls can play basketball in a non-competitive environment.The program begins the week
of Nov. 16 and runs through Jan. 25. There will be an afternoon/evening practice each week in the gyms of
Conneaut, Crim and Kenwood schools. Boys and girls may practice separately or together. Games will be
Saturdays at the Bowling Green elementary and middle schools.There are no fees or tryouts.For more

Little People Place show, Nov. 9 and 10, at the Indoor Theatre inside the zoo’s Museum of Science. This
musical presentation is free with regular zoo admission.Little People friends, Eddie, Tessa, Sofie, Koby and
Mia and their teacher, offer a live, interactive show at Little People Place, where friends come to learn,
play, sing, dance and discover. Learn about each new friend and what they like to do.Show times are 11 a.m.,
1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and seating is limited; doors will open 20 minutes before show.The zoo also features an
award-winning year-round children’s zoo, Nature’s Neighborhood, where children learn through play as they
