Johnson on watch list
for Camp award
Bowling Green quarterback Matt Johnson is one of 50 players on the watch list for the Walter Camp
Football Foundation player of the year award. The award is the nation’s fourth-oldest individual college
football honor.
Johnson started the final 13 games for BG last season, leading the team to a Mid-American Conference
Championship. He passed for 3,467 yards and 25 touchdowns last season.
Local baseball
players win tourney
Bowling Green baseball players Clark Mayberry, Hogan Pash and Jack Schaller, and Otsego’s Hunter Carson
are playing for the Lima Express U-16.
They recently won the Dinger wood bat U16 World Series silver bracket at Miami University. In its last
four games, they won by a combined score of 33-2.
The Express defeated teams from Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
They also won the Notre Dame Tournament of Champions.
