Ice closes Wales Road
ROSSFORD – Police reported that a crash caused by icy conditions closed a portion of Wales Road this
morning.
Around 8:40 a.m. Rossford Police announced, via their Twitter account, that Wales Road, between
Interstate 75 and Glenwood Road, was closed due to a crash caused by black ice.
The tweet indicated that utility poles and wires were hanging due to the incident.
Slippery roads cause crashes in Bowling Green
Slippery conditions on roadways in the city caused several crashes this morning.
Bowling Green Police report that, as of 8:35 a.m., crashes had been reported at East Wooster Street and
Summit Street; in the 900 block of Klotz Road; and at Court and Church Streets.
Icy conditions were also reported at Conneaut Avenue and Grove Street, though no crashes were reported
there by press time.
Ambulance district delays monthly meeting
Northwest Wood Ambulance District regular monthly meeting set for tonight has been rescheduled for Jan.
21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Washington Township office, Main Street, Tontogany.
Cost of food licenses to increase
A public hearing regarding pricing increases for 2014 food licenses will be conducted as part of the Wood
County Health District’s meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The district completed a cost analysis on Dec. 6, and fees will be increased effective Feb. 3 to reflect
the cost of administering the program, according to Brad Espen, director of environmental health.
Local fee increases range from about 18 percent to 26 percent. Letters detailing the pricing changes were
mailed to retail food establishments and food-service operations last month.

Blood drive set for Saturday
PEMBERVILLE – An American Red Cross blood drive will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bethlehem
Lutheran Church, Pemberville.
