Bowling Green police were dispatched Wednesday to the area of East Court Street and North Prospect Street in reference to a hit/skip crash.

The caller gave officers information on the suspect vehicle, which led officers to Trevor Dienst’s residence.

When officers arrived around 5:19 p.m. at Dienst’s address on Third Street, they observed a vehicle pushed up on the curb. The vehicle had fresh scratches and maroon paint on the front passenger side of the vehicle on the black plastic bumper, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Dienst, 32, Bowling Green, was cited for OVI, driving under OVI suspension and failure to control.

When officers informed Dienst that he would need to go to court for the offense, he stated that the crash was “not really a hit/skip,” according to the report.

He told police that a vehicle came into his lane, and he had to move to avoid it. He said he struckthe back tire of the other vehicle, according to the report.

Dienst was driving from his home on Third St. when he turned onto Court St., where a vehicle was pushing him into the “oncoming cars that sit at the Court House”. Police found a firearm in the vehicle, according to the report.

Dienst was later released to a sober person, according to the report.
