Duane E. Miller, 79, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at OSU Hospice in Columbus, Ohio with his loving wife of 58 years by his side.
He was born on April 11, 1945, in Wood County, Ohio. Son of the late Harold and Mildred Miller.
In 1963 Duane graduated from McCombs High School. He graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1965 where he majored in accounting and minored in computer science.
Duane served in the Air Force 1966-1970. While in the Air Force he was able to focus on computer technology and won many awards because of his service in that field. His last employment was with the State of Ohio. Dept. of transportation as IT manager of that department.
After retirement he and his wife spent their summers in Ohio and winters in Fort Myers, Florida. They also did extensive trips through the United States and Europe. Duane & Sandy enjoyed cruising the Mediterranean, Panama Canal, and many Caribbean Islands. They toured the Holy Land, Jordon, Egypt, Iceland, and did an African Safari which Duane thoroughly enjoyed.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Sandy (Stinehart) Miller. He is survived by his sister-in-law Anita Miller; nieces Jennifer (Tom) Stearns, Shyla (Todd) Dewey, and nephew Todd (Megan) Miller and many great nieces & nephews also a great-great-nephew & niece and a very special niece Lori A Saylor from his wife’s side of the family.
Duane was a member of Westerville Christian Church, Westerville, OH & First Christian Church of Fort Myer, FL and a member of the Weston Masonic Lodge 560 F & AM, Weston, OH.
There will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
