On Wednesday, around 7:13 p.m., Bowling Green police responded to the Wood County Hospital for a theft report.

Charles Peoples, 65, Bowling Green, was cited for theft.

According to the Bowling Green Police Division report, Peoples was released from the hospital and was waiting on a ride when he allegedly stole an electric wheelchair and left the property.

The hospital staff told officers that Peoples was irritated that he was not able to get a ride from the hospital to his residence and that was when he took the electric wheelchair without permission, according to the report.

Officers successfully located Peoples and the electric chair at the 1000 block of Third Street, according to the report.

According to the report, Peoples told police that he needed to get home immediately because he had a dog at home and he needed to take his medications.
