Average Joe: We have the right to protest – peacefully

0

Where are all those responsible college students? Certainly not on the protest lines.

No, they are studying or trying to. So who are the ones protesting? Sure, some are students but the others? Who are they and where did they come from? A better question, who is paying for all the tents, posters and paint they are using?

The U S Constitution states we have the right to protest – Peacefully. What we have seen lately is not peaceful. No matter what the media has said or the protest leaders have said. Peaceful isn’t blocking sidewalks, streets, entrances to buildings, name calling and intimidation of certain groups of people. All of this plus making barriers to prevent people from going about campus. None of this is peaceful.

Where is the respect for others? Even those who we disagree with.

Respect and equality are points that numerous people are promoting, but we’ve seen very little of either. Especially during the protests of late. No respect for anyone except other protesters (and maybe not even all of them). Where did these protesters learn they could defy the law and think they could get away with this? Then demand amnesty for all the law breaking.

What is the purpose of these protests? The real purpose. Disruption, chaos, vandalism, destruction only benefits the perpetrators of the protests. This is more than a protest, it is anti-American, anti-law and order, anti-civilized behavior.

If these people don’t like what America stands for, what America is, why don’t they just leave? We will even help them pack.

America is a great nation, proof is the fact that so many want to live here, in freedom and justice and liberty. Without the fear of violence, at least before many of these protests, intimidation and government over stepping its responsibilities. There have always been disagreements, usually settled without violence.

Is there a meaningful plan to change our country, into what? A socialist dictatorship? Or worse? Everything they are doing indicates an agenda that is contrary to what the U S Constitution states.

Ignoring the law of the land is what these people are doing. Making demands for everything including amnesty for breaking the laws is ludicrous. The important thing is, who are all these people who are not students? And why are they trespassing on numerous college campuses? What is the real reason for being there? If it is to protest and intimidate, they have no business being on campus.

What makes them think they can defy the laws and rules of the campus and the community, then demand amnesty for doing so? Do they have any knowledge of civil society? Or don’t they care.

The U S Constitution states we have the right to protest – peacefully. I repeat PEACEFULLY, which is not what we have seen on numerous college campuses. We the People need to follow through and stop this illegal protesting.
