Rossford debuts mobile visitor center

ROSSFORD — The Rossford Convention & Visitors Bureau (RCVB) will debut a new mobile visitors center on the first week of the Stroll the Street event in downtown Rossford on Tuesday from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

A ribbon-cutting for the mobile unit is planned for 5:30 p.m. in Edward Ford Park prior to the start of the music provided by Randy Krajewski’s Polish Band and sponsored by Hollywood Casino-Toledo.

The RCVB Board determined that a mobile unit, rather than a fixed office space, would provide flexibility and a highly visible presence in Rossford and elsewhere in Northwest Ohio. The 18-foot towable travel trailer will be parked in front of Edward Ford Park every Tuesday May 21-Aug. 13 for the weekly event.

It will then be transported by Camping World, a partner in the initiative, to the five Rossford hotels on Clark Drive off I-795 at the crossroads of I-75 and the Ohio Turnpike, for Celebrate on Clark, a weekly event held on Wednesdays June-August. The mobile visitor center will remain in place to provide visitor information on the attached rack system to hotel guests throughout the weekend.

The visitor center is wrapped in colorful designs depicting the local area and highlighting the location and convenience of the hotels on Clark Drive for travelers, as well as their proximity within 10 miles of numerous attractions in Northwest Ohio.

Beth Genson, executive director, said, “We are excited for people to see the new mobile unit. It will allow us to store and transport visitor materials, provide an on-site space to meet with visitors, and allow us to administer services, such as first-aid or shelter from the sun when needed.”
