Roger W. Horner, “Rog,” of Bowling Green, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday May 1 ,2024.

He was born on September 6, 1934 in Jerry City, Ohio to the late Dewey and Martha (Talmadge) Horner. He married Annetta “Nan” (Reid) on January 16, 1953 and she survives in Bowling Green.

Rog was the owner of Horner Marathon, “Horner on the Corner” on Enterprise and Wooster streets until his retirement in 1993. He previously worked at Toledo Desk and Heinz. He was an avid sports fan following BGSU athletics as well as Bowling Green Bobcat Hockey.

Rog is survived by his beloved wife, Nan of 71 years, his daughters KoAnn (Tom) Rutter of Bowling Green, Kathy Yeager of Bowling Green, and sons Terry (Karen) Horner of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Dan (Bonnie) Horner of Bowling Green, Ohio. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Dick, sister Betty Loudenslager, son-in-law Robert (Bob) Yeager, and great-grandson Michael Turpening.

Rog was a kind and loving father, husband, and grandfather. He was a devoted Christian and was deeply committed to his faith.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12 p.m. with his son Pastor Dan Horner officiating at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio. Interment will immediately follow at Union Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Roger Horner to be dispersed to the numerous charitable organizations he gave to.
