LOS ANGELES — After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, former Bowling Green State University offensive lineman Kameren Stewart has an opportunity to continue his pursuit of his dream job of playing in the National Football League after being selected as an undrafted free agent to the New York Giants after this year’s draft concluded.

Stewart, born and raised in Irmo, South Carolina where he was a three-star recruit coming out of Dutch Fork High School.

He helped lead his high school to three state Class 5A championships in South Carolina. Stewart began his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina before transferring to Bowling Green post-pandemic.

In his career, he has blocked for five (5) players with 100-yards or more rushing yards totaling 2,202 yards. As well as blocked for two (2) different players reaching one thousand yards (C.J. Marable, 1,104, and Shermani Jones, 1,040).

Stewart’s experience through 64 games accumulated 1,897 snaps on the offensive line run-blocking a total of 11,082 yards (120 touchdowns) and pass-blocking for 14,115 yards (125 touchdowns).

Stewart is the first BG offensive lineman to the NFL since Ryan Hunter in 2019 signed a UDFA contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. As of now, no other BG Falcon has been drafted in this year’s 2024 NFL Draft nor signed a UDFA contract with any NFL team.

Stewart will begin his journey as a member of the Giants at the team’s rookie mini-camp on May 10-12 along with all players drafted by the Giants and free agent signings.

The percentage of collegiate football players that make it to an NFL team is approximately 1.5%. There are approximately 16,000 collegiate draft-eligible players annually and of that, only 257 are selected which is 0.016% of those actually drafted.

“Kameren has an equal opportunity on a level playing field as much as any of the drafted players”, according to his agent, Maine Prince of Prince Management Group based in Los Angeles, California.

This year in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Giants drafted zero offensive linemen. In the 2023 NFL Draft, they only drafted the current center, John Michael Schmitz Jr. and have a total of fourteen (14) offensive linemen on the roster.

Most teams will carry approximately 12 to 15 offensive linemen on the active roster and practice squad throughout the season.
