Robert Newton Pooley, 82, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away April 25, 2024.

He was born February 14, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Harry and Virginia (Schaefer) Pooley. He married Julie Dennis on June 14, 1969 and she survives in Bowling Green.

Bob was a 1960 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. He went on to obtain his Bachelor’s in Education from BGSU in 1969. Bob served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1964-1967 and was stationed in Germany.

Bob taught at Northwood Schools from 1969-1999. He enjoyed traveling and took trips to Germany, Holland, Denmark, Finland, France, England, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. He was able to travel to all states in the United States except Hawaii.

Bob started an educational map painting service which he took to many states in the U.S. He attended St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bowling Green.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and always enjoyed his many friendships throughout the years. Along with his wife of nearly 55 years, Julie, Bob is survived by his children Heather Lea Waterman of Marysville, Ohio, Jon David Wayne Pooley (Heather) of Bowling Green and Teresa Marie Baker (Mike) of Hilliard, Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren Lucas, Wil, Clare, Lauren, Bob, Ethan, Ragan and Corinne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tom Pooley and Jim Pooley.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 150 S. Enterprise St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402.

Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to St. Aloysius Building Fund or the American Cancer Society.
