A Bowling Green man has been sentenced for pandering.

Robert Hoffsis, 56, appeared Monday in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Molly Mack.

He was indicted in September for 12 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person and possessing criminal tools.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of pandering, possessing criminal tools and one count of the amended charge of attempting pandering.

Defense attorney Skip Potter asked for a sentence of community control subject to terms and conditions the court deemed appropriate.

“I’m terribly sorry about this whole situation. It’s entirely my fault,” Hoffsis said.

He knowingly created, reproduced or published obscene material that had a minor as one of its participants or observers.

Mack said the mental and physical injuries suffered by the victim were exacerbated due to their age.

Hoffsis did not show any genuine remorse during the presentence investigation, she said.

Given the age of the victims and what was discovered at the scene is disturbing and certainly criminal, Mack said.

She sentenced Hoffsis to 12 months for each pandering and attempted pandering charge and 11 months for possessing criminal tools.

The sentences are to be served concurrently for a total of 12 months.

Upon release, he will be placed on post-release control for five years and must register as a Tier II sex offender, which will require him to register every 180 days for 25 years.
