BG man cited for discharging gun; bullet went through apartment wall

On Sunday around 3:16 p.m., Bowling Green police responded to the 2000 block of Napoleon Road for a report of a bullet hole in an apartment wall.

Brandon Person, 21, Bowling Green, was cited for discharging a weapon in city limits and tampering with evidence.

When police arrived at the scene, they spoke with the caller who believed that there were bullet holes in her bedroom walls and closet door. A graduation gown and picture framed were damaged, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The suspected bullet came from the neighboring apartment. After officers were done taking photos of the bullet holes, they were unsuccessful in trying to locate Person at his residence.

Person was eventually located and admitted to having an accidental discharge of his Ruger Security 9mm pistol and said the discharged bullet did go into his wall and possibly into the neighboring apartment, according to the report.

Person stated that he ran to the neighboring apartment and knocked on their door, with no response. Person stated that he was scared of what happened and was afraid to call the police, according to the report.
