The Bowling Green State University men’s basketball program and head coach Todd Simon announced the signing of Braelon Green on Wednesday.

Green, a 6-foot-3 guard, will join the Falcons after spending this past season at Arizona State. A native of Southfield, Mich., Green appeared in 22 games for the Sun Devils during his freshman campaign at ASU in 2023-24.

“Braelon is a dynamic guard that plays both sides of the ball,” said Simon. “Offensively, he is quick and athletic which will be an asset in our uptempo style of play. He is a terrific on-ball defender that can have an impact in our system. Braelon’s ability to create shots and finish excites us. We see him as a perfect fit on and off the floor.”

During the 2023-24 season, Green averaged 5.5 minutes per game, totaling 19 points over the course of the season. He added 16 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals over his 122 minutes played.

His best game of the season offensively came on Dec. 6 against SMU, scoring five points over 13 minutes, both season-highs. He scored five against Vanderbilt on Nov. 24 as well. Green also posted two rebounds and two assists against Washington on Feb. 22.

Playing for the Southern California Academy, Green was named a Top-100 prospect by Rivals, placing him as the No. 65 overall prospect and No. 21 shooting guard in the nation a season ago. ESPN rated him as a four-star prospect and the No. 2 overall player from the state of Michigan.

Green is the second player to sign with the Falcons this offseason, joining Michigan transfer forward Youssef Khayat as well as two incoming signees from the fall; guard Jaxon Pardon and forward Preston Squire.
