Bowling Green police were dispatched to a fight on the 100 block of North Main Street on Monday around 1:28 a.m.
Dispatch advised the suspect had left but gave the description of a Hispanic male with a white shirt.
When officers arrived at the scene, they observed a Hispanic male walking eastbound on the 100 block of East Court Street. The male was identified as Jesus Garcia, 56, Bowling Green.
Garcia was found with blood on his face and hands, and told officers that he got into a fight with another male over a chair in a bar and did everything out of self-defense when two males approached him.
Surveillance footage showed Garcia biting a chunk of another male’s left ear off. Police were unable to locate the missing chunk.
Garcia was checked out by the Bowling Green Fire Division and transported to Wood County Hospital.
After being cleared by the hospital, Garcia was taken to jail on charges of felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
