Perrysburg man indicted for aggravated vehicular assault

A Perrysburg man has been indicted for aggravated vehicular assault after he allegedly caused an accident that injured his passenger.

A Wood County grand jury on April 3 indicted Chad Michael Grieser, 42, for aggravated vehicular assault, a third-degree felony; two counts operating a vehicle while under the influence of a listed controlled substance or a listed metabolite of a control substance, and one count operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them, all first-degree misdemeanors.

According to court documents filed by the Perrysburg Police Department, at 10:40 pm. on Dec. 31, Grieser failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway and drove his Honda sedan through a garage before lodging it in an occupied structure in the 100 block of Anchor Bay Dr. Both he and his passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle by the Perrysburg Fire Division.

He was found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and was placed under arrest.

The passenger was transported via ambulance to ProMedica Toledo Hospital with a serious injury to her arm.

The grand jury also indicted:

• Julian Alexander Watkins, 20, Bowling Green, for three counts aggravated trafficking in drugs, all fourth-degree felonies; one count aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first-degree felony; possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony; and counterfeiting, a fourth-degree felony.

Three times from June 15 to July 5, he allegedly sold or offered to sell psilocyn and on July 7 he allegedly was found in possession of and was preparing for distribution more than five times the bulk amount of psilocyn in the vicinity of a juvenile.

If found guilty, he may have to forfeit $5,020, a digital scale, a 3D printed 9 mm firearm, a 3D printer, four Fender guitars, a desktop computer and numerous cell phones.

• Co-defendants Andre R. Brown, 44, and Callie Ann Stricker Lorton, 27, both of Toledo.

Brown was indicted for one count of grand theft, passing bad checks and receiving stolen property and two counts of forgery, all fourth-degree felonies; and two counts of identify fraud, both third-degree felonies.

Lorton was indicted for grand theft, forgery and passing bad checks, all fourth-degree felonies; and identity fraud, a third-degree felony.

On Jan. 22, they allegedly deprived Bass Pro Shops of a four-wheeler valued $10,515.76 by paying with a check for they knew was forged. They used the personal identification of another person.

Brown also allegedly wrote a check to Cedar Creek Carts Inc. on Jan. 26 for $11,272.45 he knew was forged and belonged to another person. He retained or disposed of the golf cart.

• Edward Lewis Brooks, 65, Ontario, Ohio, for possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony; and aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. On Nov. 27, he allegedly had in his possession cocaine and oxycodone and was preparing amphetamine for distribution.

• Kimberly Ann Morgan, 26, Northwood, for theft, a fifth-degree felony. On Feb. 2, she allegedly stole $2,459 in cash deposits from a Dollar General store in Perrysburg where she worked.

• Amber Nicole Miller, 40, Bowling Green, for possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs, both fifth-degree felonies. On Nov. 26, she allegedly was found in possession of cocaine and psilocyn.

• Terry Lynn Markuske, 60, New York, New York, for receiving stolen property and forgery, both fifth-degree felonies; and identity fraud, a fourth-degree felony. On Dec. 13, Markuske allegedly wrote a check they knew to be stolen for $358.52.

• Cassandra Michelle James, 32, Toledo, for failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. She failed to appear in court in March after being released on an own recognizance bond after being indicted for possession of drugs.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest.

• Scott Alan Stafford, 39, Bowling Green and currently in jail, for violating a protection order, a fifth-degree felony; and menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony. On Feb. 27, he allegedly entered a Perrysburg office and left a hand-written note for an employee, in violation of a civil protection order. There are also documented incidents where Stafford had contacted the protected person after being advised not to, leading to a pattern of contact that caused duress and fear. He had previously been convicted of violating a protection order in December.

• Andrew Morse, 34, Graytown, for domestic violence, a third-degree felony; and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor. On March 3, he allegedly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a family member by throwing a lamp at her. He had previously been convicted of domestic violence in 2012 in Ottawa County.

• Kathleen Nicole Briner, 37, of Weston and currently in jail, for two counts of forgery, identity fraud and theft, all fifth-degree felonies; and misuse of credit cards, a first-degree misdemeanor. From Feb. 12-19, she allegedly forged two checks valued at $3,336.72 and $509.10; used deception from Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2023, to precure a credit card; used the personal information of another woman from Oct. 1-Dec. 31; and deprive this same person of money valued at more than $1,000 from Jan. 1-Feb. 28.

• Devonta Greer, 28, Clinton Township, Michigan, for counterfeiting, a third-degree felony; and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony. On July 19, 2022, Greer allegedly had in their possession cell phones with purpose to use them to defraud.

• Co-defendants Jesse D. McMahan, 23, and Devin Michael Rohn, 21, both of Toledo.

McMahan was indicted for four counts of receiving stolen property, one a fourth-degree felony, three fifth-degree felonies; and possessing criminal tools, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Rohn was indicted for four counts of receiving stolen property, one a fourth-degree felony and three fifth-degree felonies. The car and three credit cards.

Perrysburg police were called Feb. 29 to the 12300 block of WaterStone Lane for a report of a suspicious condition. A Nissan Altima had been moved from where it had been parked and items were found in it that were not the owner’s and items were missing.

Police observed McMahan and Rohn in the area and they admitted to entering the vehicle and driving it across the parking lot and stealing items from the vehicle. McMahan were found in possession of a window punch.

They also allegedly entered a second unlocked vehicle and took a wallet which contained three credit cards.

• Ricardo Curtis Lewis, 46, of Toledo and currently in a correctional treatment facility in Orient, for failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. From Dec. 14-Jan. 11, he failed to appear as required after having been released on his own recognizance after being charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.
