Perrysburg’s Faris pitches no-hitter against Whitmer

TOLEDO — On the heels of a 15-5 loss to Whitmer on Tuesday, Perrysburg pitcher Parker Faris pitched a complete-game no-hitter as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Panthers, 10-0, in six innings on Wednesday.

Faris struck out seven, walked none, and threw 76 pitches, including 50 for strikes in facing the near-minimum 19 batters. Three Whitmer batters reached after getting hit by a pitch.

Meanwhile, Perrysburg scored in every inning, pounding out 10 hits and taking advantage of six errors.

Brayden Heitmeyer was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a sacrifice fly, and three RBI, Connor Kessinger was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Quinn Weber was 2-for-2 with a double and RBI.

Abram Hire, Brandon Mefferd, and Matt Hubbard had base hits, Mefferd and Trent Bezek had stolen bases, and Kessinger, Hubbard and Bezek reached after getting hit by a pitch.
