Clara Bell (Phillips) Swartz, age 93, of Pemberville, OH passed away at Otterbein SeniorLife Community in Pemberville, Ohio on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
She was born in Luckey, OH on September 19, 1930, to the late Earl H. and Ruth I. (Grover) Phillips. In 1948, she married Alton W. Sundermeier, and they had three children.
She was a past member at First Baptist Church in Perrysburg. Clara enjoyed watching Nascar, crocheting, playing bingo, playing cards and she was always working on a jigsaw puzzle. Her greatest joy remained her family, and spending time with them.
Clara is survived by her daughter: Connie S. McCartney of Elk River, ID. Sisters: Mary Lou Hernacki of Perrysburg, OH and Judy Daniels of Oak Harbor, OH, grandchildren: Tonya (Paul Arthur) Delphous, Chad (Meri) Delphous, Rhonda Rae Bliss, Kurt Koester, Heather (PeeJib) Paul, Jamey (Wendy) Koester, Scott (Patricia) Sundermeier, Jason (Heidi) Sundermeier, and Chris (Natalie) Sundermeier. 30 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband Alton, she is preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Jenny Mae Dunn, son, Earl “Fritz” Sundermeier, sisters; Elsie Mae Hampton, Loretta Bourdeon, Juanita Dennis, Joyce Ann Rau, brothers: Jack Phillips and Bob Phillips.
Family and friends will be received 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street Luckey, Ohio.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024. There will be additional visitation from 9:30 a.m., until time of services. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery, Millbury, OH. Officiating will be Pr. Peter Johnston.
