Later in the inning, Leighton Banjoff put a ball in play to third with a fielding error allowing Archer to score for a 6-0 BGSU advantage.

A bases loaded hit by pitch in the bottom of the fourth pushed across the first Xavier run of the game. A walk followed for a 6-2 score.

In the fifth inning, Takats was hit by a pitch to begin the inning. He stole second and took third on a wild pitch, setting up an RBI single to left for Parker to push the lead to 7-2.

A solo home run in the sixth inning for Xavier chipped away at the BGSU lead, down to 7-3.

BGSU responded in the seventh. Parker knocked a double to right field with Archer following with a single to score Parker and make it an 8-3 advantage. Xavier tallied a run in the bottom half, matching Bowling Green’s double-single sequence for a score of 8-4.
