BG tennis opens with 5-0 sweep over Wildcats

NAPOLEON — Bowling Green boys tennis opened its Northern Lakes League season by shutting out Napoleon Thursday, 5-0.

In first singles, Aaron Hershberger defeated Caden Stover 6-0, 6-0, in second singles Zack Mangan defeated Brayden Bostelman 6-1, 6-1, and in third singles, Caleb Goff defeated Jacob Weber 6-0, 6-0.

In first doubles, the BG team of Robby Seiffert and Keegan Kriska defeated Mitch Velazquez and Tristan St. John 6-0, 6-1, and in second doubles Jackson LaPointe and Gavin Roessner defeated Will Roth and Tre Smith, 6-0, 6-0.

The win brings Bowling Green to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in the NLL.

In JV action, BG’s Corin McMurray and Syler Poffenbarger defeated David Rodriguez and Will Roth, 6-0.
