Sylvania man indicted for rape

A Sylvania man has been indicted for rape.

A Wood County grand jury on March 20 indicted William J. Thieman Jr., 32, for rape, a first-degree felony; and two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, both third-degree felonies.

On May 29 and May 30, he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a girl who was 14 at the time of the alleged offenses.

On May 31, he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the girl by purposely compelling her to submit by force or threat of force.
