A Pemberville man will spend more than six years in prison for creating obscene material of a juvenile.

Brett Chime, 45, was transported from the jail Monday to the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Molly Mack.

He pleaded guilty in January to an amended count of attempted pandering obscenity involving a minor, a third-degree felony; four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all fourth-degree felonies; and one count possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.

He had been indicted for 12 counts of pandering; the remaining charges were dismissed.

Chime’s victim said this was the last time would willing speak to him and recounted how he would put his phone camera under the door while she took a shower.

“God frowns upon you actions” and you’ll have a lot of free time to consider what you have done, she said.

“I made a mistake that’s going to last me the rest of my life,” Chime said.

Mack said she had received letters from the victim, her grandparents and a cousin.

Certainly, the victim in this instance is a very brave woman to come to court and tell her story, Mack said.

She imposed a sentence of 30 months for the F3 pandering charge and 12 months for each of the F4 charges. These are to be served consecutively for a total of 6.5 years.

She added six months for the possession of criminal tools, which will be served concurrently.

Chime will be given credit for time served; he has been incarcerated since Sept. 21.

Once released from prison, he will have to register as a Tier II sex offender, which will require him to register every 180 days for 25 years.
