Dolores Marie (Macias) Bucher “Lalie,” 88, of North Baltimore, slipped away peacefully Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore, Ohio.
She was born on August 27, 1935, in Orville, Ohio, to the late Juan and Antonia (Munoz) Macias. Her parents came from Aguascalientes and Jalpa, Zacatecas Mexico. They immigrated to the United States raising 9 children. Lalie was a proud 1st generation Mexican American.
She is survived by her sister, Anita “Quita”(Gary) Mueller, Godfrey Illinois; her three sons: Bill (Suzanne) Bucher of North Baltimore, Jim Bucher (Linda Kidd) of Bowling Green, and Mike (Cyndi) Bucher of North Baltimore; sister-in-law, Cory Macias; five cherished grandchildren: Cassi (Jimmy) Painter, Jordan Bucher, Lauren (Rich) Mercer, Kristan Bucher, and Aryn (Tyler) Brumbaugh; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Henry, Louis, Richard, Charles, Fred, and an infant brother, Robert Macias and sister Mary Gomez.
Lalie was a secretary at North Baltimore Schools for 30 years, retiring in 2002. She also had various jobs in town and was that friendly face to help you at the local pharmacy or grocery store.
She was a member of the Rocky Ford Red Hat Society, loved to golf, enjoyed her water exercise classes, attending women’s basketball games at BGSU, and playing games with her family.
Coming from a large family Lalie loved gathering everyone and preparing homemade Mexican food. Anyone was welcome and there was no such thing as a stranger. Her door was always open. She was well respected and loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
At the request of Dolores, all services will be private.
