Zachary John Kania, born on August 11th, 1988, passed away unexpectedly on March 7th, 2024.
Zach’s unassuming demeanor might have made him seem less persistent or determined, but those who knew him well understood that he was a true fighter. Despite the many challenges he faced, Zach never gave up, and his strength and resilience inspired those around him.
Even though he had a medical condition, he plowed through obstacles with grit and proved to everyone that he was the one in control of his life, not his condition.
Zachary’s strong spirit was matched only by his kind-hearted and loving nature. He loved to read Calvin and Hobbs, Garfield & Friends, and watch Mystery Science 3000. Zach was an enthusiastic gamer, always eager to embark on digital adventures at any time of day. He found joy in the limitless possibilities of gaming, and his passion for it was contagious.
On warm days, Zach loved spending time outside, shooting his pellet gun at paper targets. He would eagerly await his mother’s return home or his brother’s visit, excited to share his latest marksmanship feats.
Outside of his family, Zach loved two things more than anything else: his dogs Massey (dachshund), Sophie (chocolate lab), and M&M’s.
Rest assured, Zach is watching over us while eating an endless bowl of M&Ms and swapping stories with his dad (Tom Kania). Zach, you will be missed. Have no worries, as your big brother will pick up the controller and continue in the great game of life. Thinking of you always, alongside our Mom (Sherri Kania).
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials in Zach’s name to the Henry County Humane Society to honor his love for his dogs.
