Helen L. Dyke, 83, of Grand Rapids, Ohio- wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully went home to Jesus March 11, 2024.

Helen was born the youngest of 4 to Ora & Fanny Glassford March 3, 1941. Helen married the love of her life Richard W. Dyke June 20, 1959.

While raising their 2 sons in Grand Rapids, Helen enjoyed running with the Ambulance crew and being a Grand Rapids swim team mom. She also learned to love golf, eventually being president of her 9-hole league at Valleywood. She also enjoyed the many fishing trips to Canada and visiting with friends.

Later in life, they enjoyed many winters in Florida where Helen learned painting and woodcarving and of course playing horseshoes.

While she always loved helping others, she found her calling in life as a licensed massage therapist. But she also enjoyed her free time watching the birds at her feeders as well as her lifetime love of singing and sitting under tin roofs in the rain.

Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard, sons David (Kathy) and Blair (Amy), grandson Christopher (Melissa), great-grandchildren Ayden, Michael, Matthew and Peyton, stepgrandchildren Adam Thomas and Megan (Ryan) Long and stepgreat-grandchildren Reagan and Adley as well as her sister Joan “Joie” Potter.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ora & Fanny and brothers Jim Glassford and Jack Glassford.

As a member of Grand Rapids Methodist Church, memorials may be given to the church or Bridge Hospice in Bowling Green.

A public graveside service will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Whitehouse, Ohio.
