Ghanbari takes our concerns seriously

To the editor:

I support the re-election of our state representative, Haraz Ghanbari.

As a now-retired police crime prevention officer and community policing officer, I have first-hand knowledge of the positive impact Haraz has had on our local communities.

Throughout the years, Haraz made several appearances at our township’s multiple Neighborhood Watch organizations’ meetings. Each time, he has listened attentively to the concerns of the public, providing his input on topics our residents have deemed important to them.

I know he has taken these issues back to Columbus, informing others in the legislature of the matters citizens brought to his attention. I know this because several other legislators with whom I have become friends over the years have informed me Haraz has shared these concerns with those other legislators.

This is evidence Haraz takes our concerns seriously and not simply to which he gives lip service.

Haraz has become important to those of us in public safety—law enforcement, fire and EMS services. This has culminated in several endorsements from public safety organizations in our area, such as our local chapter of Fraternal Order of Police.

A few years ago, he spearheaded legislation that passed overwhelmingly in a bipartisan vote to allow township police officers authority on Interstate highways.

Haraz has devoted much of his adult life to serving the public, not only our area but also our country. As a member of the United States Navy, and later the Naval Reserve, he has attained the rank of lieutenant commander.

Because of the attributes listed in this letter, and others too numerous to mention, Haraz has my undying support for re-election.
