God’s morals should be taught in school

To the editor,

The truth about Separation of Church and State.

When our founding fathers first met, 51 of the 55 men were Christians. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin were two of the four who denied they were Christians. Yet, Jefferson and Franklin teamed up and proposed the United States Seal should depict Moses and the pillar of fire. They wanted to portray God leading America just as God lead the Israelites to the Promise Land.

The Founding Fathers also approved the printing of enough Bibles that all schools would have one and that the Bible would be read daily. Benjamin Franklin stated on June 28,1787, “ I have lived a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proof I see this truth – that God Governs in the affairs of men.”

Franklin also proposed that each session open with a prayer to God. In 1963, satan twisted the mines of the Supreme Court and the court bowed down to a loud mouth Atheist. The Supreme Court cowardly gave in stating that prayer and Bible reading could not be mandated in public schools.

The meaning of Separation of Church and State was perverted to mean that the church would not be involved in public schools; however, when Jefferson actually made that promise of Separation of Church and State to a Baptist Church congregation in Connecticut, it was meant to limit government’s involvement in the Christian Church.

In 1999, a First Amendment Guide Line was approved stating the Bible can be taught in public schools as an academic class, but not a devotional class.

In conclusion, the decaying of morals and ethics is evident in today’s society and demonstrates the need to return to teaching God’s moral laws in schools.
