Think about the various events and developments in our country in the recent and not so recent past.
The seemingly unlimited crime, shootings, illegal immigration, severe weather, forest fires in California and other areas, illegal drugs flooding our cities, and much more. Lack of respect for our laws in general, to say nothing about the lack of respect for our national and state leaders. People doing whatever they want legally or illegally, with no regard to any consequences. Violence and protests are everywhere. Some groups have hinted or implied they will get their way, no matter what they need to do or how many may be hurt. Traditions and traditional behavior are being challenged and forcefully changed. If we aren’t “inclusive” in our thinking we are told, “times are changing and we must change with it.” If we don’t we are being hateful.
Personal beliefs don’t matter, if they conflict with these changes. Faith in God is criticized, as well as people with a high moral standards. While bad behavior and lifestyles are often looked on as good. Division is more common than unity. What is really happening? What behind the scenes is causing this?
Who or what is responsible? When will it end? Will it end? Is all of this, some would say negative developments, just part of a growing society? A highly successful society that has reached its peak? Perhaps even surpassed it? Or could these acts of violence and natural disasters be part of warning from nature? When rules and laws are not followed and obeyed there are consequences, sometimes severe consequences. Man’s laws, (human laws) when broken, gives us consequences, like fines, probation and/or prison time. When nature’s laws are broken there are consequences as well. Even though we can seek forgiveness as Christians believe. Not every one follows that faith. If we don’t what can happen? Eternal damnation?
Is there a solution? When a group is determined to change, and will use any means (legal or illegal) to do this, how do you stop it? Is it time for mankind – humankind – to step back and analyze what is really happening? What is going on? In our world, are we headed for world wide anarchy? Maybe the flood Noah experienced? Or ever hear of Sodom and Gomorrah?
To understand better, read Genesis, Chapter 19. Think about the moral decline, wickedness and general attitude we have today. Depending on which version of the Bible you have, it might not be completely clear what exactly brought about God’s wrath, but it is clear what did happen.
