A former coach indicted last month for attempted sexual battery and providing juveniles with alcohol has been indicted again on similar charges.

A Wood County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Brady Spanfellner, 26, on 17 charges, including a second count of attempted sexual battery, a fourth-degree felony; eight counts contributing to the delinquency of a child, all first-degree misdemeanors; five counts illegal distribution of cigarettes or other tobacco, all fourth-degree misdemeanors; and three counts failure to comply with underage alcohol laws, all unclassified misdemeanors.

On March 19, 2022, he allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with an 18-year-old while he was a coach at Elmwood High School.

Spanfellner had been hired by Elmwood as an assistant track coach in March 2021. When he resigned in April 2022 after rumors started circulating, he was co-head coach of the track team.

He is accused of contributing to the unruliness of a child on numerous occasions between Nov. 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022.

Allegations of failure to comply with underage alcohol laws occurred on Dec. 31, 2021, when he allegedly furnished alcohol to a 17-year-old; on Dec. 31, 2021, for a 16-year-old; and on March 11, 2022, to another 18-year-old.

He is accused of providing tobacco products to persons under the age of 21 five times from Nov. 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022.

Spanfellner had been indicted in January for attempted sexual battery, three counts of failure to comply with underage alcohol laws, and eight counts contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child.

That attempted sexual battery allegedly occurred on March 19, 2022, with a 17-year-old.
