Lucas County Retired Teachers are gathering on March 14 at noon at the Toledo Country Club, 3949 River Road, Toledo. The building is handicapped accessible.
Dr. Robin Rayfield, executive director of Ohio Retired Teachers Association, will be the guest speaker. ORTA advocates for the pensions and benefits of Ohio’s active and retired educators; demands accountability from the STRS of Ohio; and lobbies Ohio’s legislators to provide a strong and sustainable retirement system for all Ohio educators, Pre-K through higher education.
The Community Partner for March is Bethany House. Items needed are gift cards to Kroger, Meijer, Walmart or Amazon; cleaning supplies, HE laundry supplies, hygiene products, body wash, baby wipes, full size sheets, bed pillows
The luncheon entree choices include: 1. herb crusted pork loin with mustard apricot glaze served with rosemary redskin potatoes and seasonal vegetable. 2. chicken cordon bleu served with rosemary redskin potatoes and seasonal vegetable. 3. butternut squash ravioliwith maple glaze. All entrees include Orchard Salad (mixed greens, candied walnuts, parmesan cheese, and apples), dinner roll, dessert, and coffee, tea or iced tea. A cash bar will also be available.
Make checks payable to LCRTA and send reservations with $29 per person, which includes meal and service charge. Reservations are due by March 4.
