PERRYSBURG — The Perrysburg Rotary Club is well known for its efforts to improve the Perrysburg community with its fundraising efforts to support local projects. As part of that process, the club established a 501(c)3 charity in 1984 with the name Perrysburg Rotary Service Foundation. Recently the foundation’s name was changed to the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation in order to better convey the organization’s ties to Perrysburg area projects. A new prcf.org website is currently under construction.

The Perrysburg Rotary Club has more than 100 members who are committed to Rotary’s ideals of service in our local community and internationally. Over one million Rotarians in nearly every country share a dedication to the principle of “Service Above Self.” In just the past seven years, the Perrysburg Rotary Club and its foundation have donated over $800,000 to more than 30 projects and initiatives within the community. In addition, the foundation has also contributed to many international projects as well.

The community legacy project is Perrysburg Rotary Community Park.

What began as a dream in the late 1990s has turned an empty field into a vibrant community park enjoyed by countless people of all ages. Since that time and through a continued effort by Perrysburg Rotarians and a partnership with the city of Perrysburg, our annual charity fundraisers have benefited the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation and allowed us to

donate more than $800,000 to help the park grow and evolve into a vibrant recreational gathering place. Perrysburg Rotary Community Park now offers:

• The Welch Family Pickleball Complex featuring eight pickle ball courts

• The Steve Hopkins Tennis Complex with five USTA regulation and lighted tennis courts

• An all-inclusive playground through a partnership with Wood County Plays

• A sheltered pavilion with full access restrooms

• Soccer fields

• A walking/jogging track
