The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce and Murrey’s Movers LLC will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new business on Tuesday at the chamber of commerce offices, 217 S. Church St.

The 4 p.m. ceremony is open to the public and will include congratulatory words from city representatives to welcome owner Shawn Murrey into the Bowling Green business community.

Murrey moved back to Ohio from California in 2021 and decided he was ready to start his own moving company in February 2023. He proudly touts being the only moving service based in Bowling Green and wants to help families and students move in and out of the city in a stress-free way. The business currently offers packing, unpacking, loading, unloading, car hauling, junk removal and more services as needed.

Murrey’s Movers now employs four locals who travel across the United States to relocate their clients, and Murrey is hoping to expand his enterprise. With the addition of new manufacturing facilities and housing developments in BG, he sees plenty of opportunities for growth.

“Bowling Green is the center of it all, with the well-known BGSU campus and events that bring the whole United States together, such as the National Tractor Pulls and sporting events,” Murrey said.

Since he started the business, he has “been on a successful learning journey and (is) excited to continue serving our community and expanding.”

The event is open to the public, with registration open at bgchamber.net/rsvp. Light refreshments will be served.
