Margaretta A. Glassford, 86, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away February 4, 2024.
Margy was born in Tontogany, Ohio on January 25, 1938 to the late Gilbert Fletcher and Jennie Mae (Wilson) DeMuth. She married the love of her life, James Glassford on July 11, 1959 and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2022.
Margy is survived by her sons Skip (Karen) Glassford, and Victor (Joanne) Glassford; grandchildren Jimmy (Jordan) Glassford, Alex (Kailey) Glassford, Paul Glassford, Annie Glassford, Maxwell (Darla) Glassford, Maddie (Nic) Keil, and Mitchell (Olivia) Glassford; great grandchildren Tate, Luke, Maggie, Parker, August, Jamie, and Georgia Glassford; and her sisters Delcie Weber, Audrey (Dan) Creps, and Rosemary Pangburn.
Margy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, an infant brother, and several brothers-in-laws.
Margy worked many years as a realtor and business woman. She loved to negotiate, barter and trade, and was an expert collector of antiques of all kinds, toys, and Beanie Babies. Her wit, wisdom, and encouragement will be missed.
Visitation for Margy will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 24084 W. Second St., Grand Rapids, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
