A Bowling Green woman was arrested for theft and child endangering after she allegedly attempted to flee a local store with a child in her car.

On Wednesday at 6:20 p.m., Bowling Green police were called to Walmart on a report of a woman who attempted to leave the store without paying for goods.

According to the store’s asset protection team, the woman approached self-checkout with a large quantity of goods in reusable bags. She neglected to scan these items and is accused of switching price stickers to scan the barcode of the cheaper items, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

When she proceeded to exit the store, the asset protection team attempted to stop her. She left the shopping cart, containing $280.14 in products, and fled to the parking lot, according to the report.

Officers observed her vehicle in the parking lot driving erratically and at a high rate of speed.

When she stopped the vehicle, she exited and headed for the backseat.

The officer, upon approach, observed a toddler in the backseat not properly secured in his car seat, according to the report.

The driver, identified as Allyson Snow, 29, was arrested for theft and endangering children and was taken to jail.
